The types of fat you eat may also play a role in your skins appearance. If your skin is really bad, take a look at what types of fat you are eating. It is a fact that unhealthy fats lead to more frequent acne breakouts.

Naturally eating unhealthy fats is not good for your health or body either. Hydrogenated fats should be cut back as much as possible. Saturated fats, the type from animal products, such as meats, cheese, and milk, should be cut back. Healthy fats may be consumed in moderation. Some of these healthy fats are found in foods such as: Fish, olive oil, and flax seeds. Everyday cooking oils, such as vegetable oil, should avoided. A home remedy that is often very effective is using egg whites. Eggs are a natural source of protein, and this can help prevent and cure acne. It does this by effectively helping to remove oils from your skin. You can make a facial mask using beaten egg whites and apply it to your face for fifteen minutes every day. Then, using a soft cloth and warm water, rinse the egg whites off. This treatment will work best if you use large organic eggs for your mask. This cheap and effective way to treat your acne can be successful if you are consistent. This treatment can help over time, but it will not help remove acne immediately.

Acne breakouts can seem to have a mind of their own. Sometimes you can do everything right and still suffer from frequent blemishes. Try starting an acne journal which may help you figure out what is triggering your outbreaks. Track new acne breakouts as well as foods you have eaten, etc. Occasionally acne is caused by a food allergy. By keeping an acne journal you will be able to see if there is a food related allergy causing the acne. There are many common ingredients found in other foods which have been reported to cause acne from food allergies. Some include: Red meats, eggs, alcohol, garlic, and caffeine.
